Description:
This four hour (divided into two two-hour sessions over two consecutive days) class will include a rapid and concise summary of current technology trends such as discovery tools, new application programming interfaces and things you can do with them, sources for enhanced content in your OPAC, new mobile devices and technologies that will likely impact on libraries in the future, and new kinds of social software. Learn how today’s hot technologies fit into the library landscape.

At the end of the class, you will be able to:
- Explain how and why library developers are creating discovery interfaces
- Define technology terms appearing on the horizon
- Describe the impact new mobile technologies are having on library services
- Identify how these technologies can help you integrate current applications in your library.
